Here are some links to Parkinson's disease organizations - Foundations, Research Institutions, and government agencies. These sites offer a wealth of information about the Parkinson's disease community - news articles, literature, research summaries, primers on Parkinson's disease, links to other sites, chat rooms, and other resources.


Parkinson’s Resource Organization. Helps families affected by Parkinson’s by offering emotional and educational support programs, publishing a monthly newsletter about quality of life and family issues, providing information and referral services, promoting advocacy and public awareness, and providing respite for family caregivers.


Parkinson's Disease Foundation. The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) is a leading national presence in Parkinson's disease research, patient education, and advocacy for increased federal funding. PDF is working for the nearly one million people in the U.S. living with Parkinson's by supporting people with Parkinson's, their families and caregivers through educational programs and support services.


National Parkinson's Foundation. Based in Miami Florida. This site has excellent beginner's information on Parkinson's disease. NPF funds several research programs.


Movement Disorders Society This is an international organization comprised of Movement Disorders Specialists - neurologists who focus on just movement disorders, like Parkinson's.


APDA. This organization has over 250 affiliated Parkinson's disease centers throughout the country. They can help find a local support groups for those new to the disease.


IETF.This is a good site to learn more about Essential Tremor (ET), a chronic condition that is sometimes confused with Parkinson's disease because of similar symptoms. The movement disorders specialists at the Parkinson's Institute treat ET.

Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) is a genetic disease that strikes every 1 in 40,000 people. While the disease is not completely rare, it is rare enough that the average NF2 patient may encounter few, if any, others with the disease in their lifetime. The NF2 Crew was formed to address this issue.
